Art and Politics : the History of the National Arts Centre

ISBN : 978-1-550-02886-7
http://publications.gc.ca/pub?id=349112&sl=0

Through a special arrangement with the National Arts Centre, Publishing and Depository Services is distributing to all Full Depository Libraries a copy of a new publication, Art and Politics : the History of the National Arts Centre.

Coinciding with the National Arts Centre's 40th anniversary, Ottawa-based journalist Sarah Jennings documents the story of the first four decades of the NAC in her new book Art and Politics : the History of the National Arts Centre (available in English only). Jennings chronicles the NAC's creation and early growth, its turbulent middle years, and finally its recent renaissance, while examining the arts in Canada from the 1960s to 2006 and providing in-depth interviews with many of the artists, managers, and politicians who created and participated in the story of the Arts Centre. Art and Politics is published by Dundurn Press and is available from retail booksellers.
